A Makani number is the unique number assigned by Dubai Municipality to an entrance of a building in Dubai. It is a 10-digit number, often displayed in two sections of five digits each. The Makani number identifies the entrance to within about a metre.

At the entrance to each building there is typically a blue Makani plaque with a QR code. You can scan the QR code on the plaque, or if there is no plaque, search for your address using the free Makani app.

Makani numbers are used by delivery services and couriers, DEWA and emergency services, and there is a field for them in the Unified Tenancy Contract. Ejari does not list the Makani number as a required document, however it can be useful for deliveries and administrative purposes.
